Um grupo de amigos decidiu criar um novo clube de netball em Portugal. Já jogávamos netball separadamente no início de nossas vidas e, mais recentemente, juntos em Portugal. Montar um clube seria um desafio totalmente novo.
Having moved from elsewhere in the world, we love living in Portugal. We love the food, the people and of course, the glorious weather. Like many places in the world though, the Portuguese bureaucracy LOVES paperwork. If you’ve lived here for a while, you soon come to learn that you must take ALL your paperwork with you, when applying for anything. Living in Portugal you come to appreciate the laid back, relaxed lifestyle… It may even be one of your reasons for choosing to move here… You also come to understand that timeframes don’t necessarily work the same here as they do elsewhere. “It will be ready in two weeks” is just a VERY rough guideline.
Existem algumas etapas para criar um clube desportivo, chamado Associação, aqui em Portugal. Primeiro, pedimos a ajuda de um advogado, que se mostrou incrivelmente prestativo e, sinceramente, não teríamos chegado tão longe sem ele. Primeiro, tivemos que apresentar todos os nossos documentos de identidade e a documentação de registro correspondente (endereço, números de contribuinte, etc.). Depois, enviamos três opções para o nome do clube, que vieram com sua própria longa lista de proibições e restrições. Então, esperamos... e esperamos. Até que finalmente recebemos a confirmação de que o nome escolhido, "Rockets Netball", havia sido aceito!
Encomendamos postes, bolas e babadores diretamente da Net World Sports e comecei a conversar com outras mulheres que queriam jogar netball.
Começamos o registro para legalizar o clube, abrir uma conta bancária etc. Até então, jogávamos como um grupo de mulheres que amam netball.
Em outubro de 2023 nos tornamos uma ‘associação’ legal!
