🚀 Who can play at Rockets Netball?
Rockets Netball club was set up by women who want to play netball and build a community for other women who want to do the same. At the moment, our practices and matches are open to women aged 18yrs+. Our new youth team is launched in September 2025 for girls aged 10-16yrs.

🚀 What do I need to do to attend a practice?
You can contact any of our admin team through email (RocketsNetball@gmail.com), facebook or Instagram. Or you can just turn up at any practice session and join in. Your first three practice sessions are free, then you can decide which kind of membership you would like to buy. Find out about membership information and costs here. We will ask you to sign an injury waiver before you can train or play netball. All players must remove jewellery including watches, necklaces, rings and earrings before they can play. Nails must be short, to the top of the finger tip. Please tie up long hair out of your face & bring a bottle of water.

🚀 Why do I need to remove all jewellery before I can train with Rockets Netball?
To avoid injury to yourself and also to other players we ask all players to remove any jewellery & to keep their finger nails short (to the end of the finger). Netball does involve some contact, fast movements and getting close to other players and injuries can happen. We’d like to keep everyone as safe as possible! Also, during tournaments umpires do check for jewellery and for length of nails.

🚀 What do I need to wear to practice with Rockets Netball?
Most clothes worn for other team sports will be suitable for playing netball. A good pair of trainers /sports shoes is essential. Some of our players wear leggings, shorts or skirts with a vest top or t-shirt. Official Rockets branded clothing is available to buy throughout the season.

🚀 Can I practice with Rockets Netball even if I don’t want to play in tournaments?
Absolutely! We have a whole range of abilities, ages and levels of confidence within our club. Some of our members enjoy coming to practices, to train, improve their fitness and help other players prepare for tournaments but don’t wish to play in tournaments and matches themselves. We also have some members who wish to umpire but not play & others who are social members and don’t want to play but will come to our social events and support our players during tournaments. You can choose your level of involvement.

🚀 I haven’t done much exercise for a while, will I be able to play?
You won’t know until you try. Our training sessions include a warm up, fitness and skills drills, match play and a cool down. If you can throw and catch a ball, walk, jog and maybe run a little give netball a try. All our players are encouraged to try new things (including skills and exercises) and push themselves within their own limits but we are adaptable to each player’s needs. Our player’s ages currently range from late 20s to mid 60s, with aching knees, ankles, backs etc. Some are more fit than others & our coaches are able to adapt drills and exercises to suit different needs. The good news is, if you keep training, your fitness will improve!

🚀 Are there any legal requirements I need to know about?
You can find all our legal paperwork including the club constitution, code of conduct, waiver of liability and disciplinary & complaints procedure on our policies page here .You can also contact any of our admin team with questions through email, facebook or instagram.

🚀 We do film or take photos during practices and other netball matches, both to help our coaches improve player skills and for club promotion on social media & this website. When you attend our practices you will be asked if we can take photos and videos of you during the training sessions and matches. If you do not wish to be in any photos or videos, please let one of our admin team know.

That’s pretty much all you need to know. We look forward to seeing you at our next training session. Find the days and times here 🚀
